Time Zone Converter – Convert Time Between Countries
Time Zone Converter
Sync and calculate time variances across global jurisdictions instantly

Quick answer
A time zone converter finds the local time in another place by comparing the two zones' offsets from UTC. Take the difference between the offsets and add it to your time. For example, Pakistan is UTC+5 and New York (standard time) is UTC−5, a gap of 10 hours, so 6:00 PM in Karachi = 8:00 AM in New York the same day.
Our free time zone converter lets you pick a time, a date, a source zone and a target zone. It returns the converted time, the correct date (including when the conversion crosses midnight) and the hour gap between the zones. It is ideal for scheduling calls with clients, booking flights, catching live events and working with remote teams.
How Time Zones Work
Every time zone is defined as an offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the global reference clock. Zones east of Greenwich are ahead (UTC+), zones to the west are behind (UTC−). Most offsets are whole hours, but some are not: India is UTC+5:30, for instance. A time zone converter simply removes your offset to get UTC, then adds the target offset.

Daylight saving note
This time zone converter uses each zone's standard offset. During daylight saving time, the US and Canada (roughly March to November), the UK and Europe (late March to late October) and Sydney (October to April) move their clocks forward one hour. In those months, subtract one hour from the gap for places west of you that observe DST, or add one for places east of you. Pakistan, India, Dubai, Singapore and Japan do not use daylight saving.
How to Use the Time Zone Converter
Step 1: Set the Base Time and Date
Pick the time and date you want to convert in the Select Base Time and Select Base Date fields. The date matters because a conversion can move to the previous or next day. We use 6:00 PM on 6 October 2026.

Step 2: Choose the From and To Time Zones
Select the source zone in From Time Zone and the place you want the time for in To Time Zone. We convert from PKT (UTC+5, Karachi) to EST (UTC−5, New York).

Step 3: Click Convert Time
Press Convert Time and the time zone converter runs the calculation instantly.

Step 4: Read the Target Time, Date and Gap
The time zone converter shows 8:00 AM on Tue, Oct 6, 2026, with a net variance of −10 hours behind. If the result falls on another day, the date line changes automatically.

Worked Examples
- 9:00 AM PKT to EST: 9 − 10 = −1, so it is 11:00 PM the previous day in New York.
- 10:00 PM PKT to AEST: 22 + 5 = 27, so it is 3:00 AM the next day in Sydney.
- 3:30 PM UTC to IST: add 5 hours 30 minutes to get 9:00 PM in India.
- 1:00 AM PKT to PST: subtract 13 hours to get 12:00 PM the previous day in Los Angeles.
Tips for Using a Time Zone Converter to Schedule Calls
- Always write the zone with the time. "3 PM PKT" avoids confusion that "3 PM" invites.
- Check the date, not just the hour. Calls between Asia and the Americas often fall on different calendar days.
- Watch DST change dates. The US and Europe switch on different weekends, so the gap changes twice a year.
- Use UTC for teams. A time zone converter makes this easy. When three or more zones are involved, quote meeting times in UTC as the common reference.
