Quick answer

To use this IPL fantasy points calculator, choose Normal (1x), Vice-Captain (1.5x) or Captain (2x) and enter the player's scorecard: runs, balls faced, fours, sixes, overs bowled, runs conceded, wickets, LBW/bowled wickets, maidens, catches, stumpings and run outs. The total includes classic T20 fantasy points plus strike-rate bonuses (minimum 10 balls) and economy-rate bonuses (minimum 2 overs). For example, 45 off 25 with 2 for 26 in 4 overs and a catch scores 131 points.

In IPL fantasy cricket, how fast a player scores and how tightly a bowler bowls can swing a total by up to 12 points. Many calculators ignore that. This free IPL fantasy points calculator includes strike-rate and economy-rate bonuses and penalties on top of runs, wickets and fielding, so the total is much closer to what you see in your fantasy app.

I checked the overs conversion (3.5 overs means 3 overs and 5 balls, not 3.5 overs of time) and tidied a small gap in the strike-rate penalty bands. The strike rate and economy are shown live as you type, so you can see why a player gained or lost points.

Strike Rate and Economy Bonuses

  • Strike rate (min 10 balls): above 170 = +6, 150 to 170 = +4, 130 to 150 = +2; 60 to 70 = -2, 50 to 60 = -4, below 50 = -6.
  • Economy rate (min 2 overs): very low economy earns up to +6, while expensive spells above 10 runs an over lose up to 6 points.
  • Bonuses are added before the captain or vice-captain multiplier is applied, so a captain's strike-rate bonus is doubled too.

IPL Fantasy Points Calculator Tips

  • Openers and number three batters face the most balls and have the best chance of milestone and strike-rate bonuses.
  • Death bowlers take wickets but often have poor economy; balance them with powerplay specialists.
  • All-rounders who bowl four overs are usually the safest captain picks.
  • Check pitch reports: high-scoring grounds favour batters and punish bowlers' economy.
  • Use this IPL fantasy points calculator on past matches to learn which roles score most at each venue.

Why Totals Can Differ From Your App

Fantasy apps also give points for being in the announced playing XI and update their tables between IPL seasons. This calculator follows the widely used classic T20 table, so treat the result as a close estimate and rely on your app for official contest scores.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this IPL fantasy points calculator free?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up and works on phones and computers.

Does it include strike rate points?

Yes. Strike-rate bonuses and penalties apply once a batter has faced at least 10 balls.

When do economy rate points apply?

Economy-rate bonuses and penalties apply once a bowler has bowled at least 2 overs.

How do I enter overs like 3.5?

Type 3.5. The calculator reads it as 3 overs and 5 balls, which is 23 balls, and works out the exact economy.

Is it exactly the same as Dream11?
